Chocolate Chip Frozen Coffee_ A Summer Time Coffee Treat

With summer weather heating up, we’re all going to be looking for a way to get our coffee fix but still stay nice and cool. This Frozen Chocolate Chip Coffee recipe fills the bill nicely!

I love frozen coffee drinks because they are just like a dessert but with the flavor of the coffee. Two of my favorite things in one neat little package! Add some really good whipped cream on top and I’m in heaven!

I have been really experimenting with this Frozen Chocolate Chip Coffee recipe, trying to get it just right. I just gotta have that deep, rich coffee flavor with just the right amount of chocolate. Yes, it is entirely possible that I have a coffee and chocolate addiction!

Anyway… You will see in the recipe below that I list several different flavors of ice cream that will work well in this recipe. I’ve tried it with all the different ice cream flavors, and it ROCKS!

But I gotta tell ya… I tried making it with Talenti Coffee Chocolate Chip Gelato (This is not an affiliate link, I just genuinely love this gelato!) last night, and oh my Goodness!!!! It takes this drink to a whole new level of amazing! It gives the drink just the right amount of that delicious bold, smooth coffee flavor that makes life worth living. You gotta try it!

Frozen Chocolate Chip Coffee Recipe

2 scoops of your choice of coffee, vanilla, chocolate chip, or chocolate-flavored ice cream(softened)

2 tbs. semi-sweet chocolate chips, plus extra for topping

1/2-1 cup ice cubes

2-3 shots espresso to taste (Here are instructions for making espresso at home.)

Your favorite sweetener to taste (I use just a little turbinado sugar, but you can use whatever sweetener you normally use in your coffee.)

Whipped cream for topping, if desired (You desire it, trust me! LOL!)

Place all ingredients together in the blender, reserving half of the ice, as well as some chocolate chips and the whipped cream for topping. Blend to the desired consistency. Add one or two of the remaining ice cubes at a time until your drink is just the way you like it. Pour into your favorite glass and top with the additional chocolate chips and whipped cream if desired.

Ninja Blender 1200 (BL688)

I think I have burned up four or five of those $30 blenders from Walmart since I started making frozen drinks at home. And the results were always less than satisfactory. When I’m making a frozen drink I’m going for smooth and creamy, NOT liquidy and chunky!

I finally got fed up and decided to invest in a better blender. Now,  I use and love this blender made by Ninja. It does an amazing job of getting frozen drinks super creamy and smooth. The price is very reasonable at around $100, and it’s well worth that investment if you want to be able to make a  lot of frozen drinks. I couldn’t live without mine!
